Courtney and Derick by far chose the worst day of 2019 to get married. Literally. I'm already comfortable saying that on March 1st. And it couldn't have been more perfect. It started off as your typical small town catholic wedding. The salon was across the street from the groom's dad's store (I knew as soon as we pulled up because how many Arvid's could there possibly be in West Point, NE?) You could tell right away how much these two truly value family and friends -- everyone was involved and honored, and everyone was thrilled that Court and Derick were getting married. (The best kind of wedding)! When the ceremony started it had just barely started snowing, but when it was over, we were all stunned by the amount of snow already blowing around. The limo canceled, but Court and Derick had the best attitudes ever, so we stuck to the plan and carpooled over to a nearby park for photos. That's when the magic happened. We were getting pelted, PELTED, by snow, but Court and Derick had the biggest smiles on their faces the whole time. You could tell they genuinely loved each other, and nothing would make them less excited about being married. The night continued with tears and laughs enjoyed by over 500 people that hunkered in and stayed even though a blizzard was waging outside. My husband and I (best second shooter ever) got snowed in and joined the other guests at the local hotel that night. We even got to have breakfast next to the bride's parents the next morning. I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
